I am a licensed and registered psychotherapist in practice for 9 years and based in New York. Before moving solely into private practice, I worked for 5+ years treating clients experiencing a variety of issues at Bellevue Hospital Center in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I specialize in working with individuals and couples across the sexuality spectrum who are moving through anxiety, depression, self-sabotage, addiction, existential stress and relationship difficulties as well as LGBTQIA+ dynamics. I allow a safe space for self-expression and empower clients to resolve patterns of unhelpful behaviors and/or thoughts. I am a strong advocate of the power and immediacy of even our subtlest movements (you never have to leave your chair to do therapy with me) as a way to connect or communicate.

My aim is to establish a therapeutic connection with you while providing a restorative sense of safety and space for free expression. My approach is psychodynamic, which means some of our sessions focus on what’s going on beneath the surface. I also incorporate somatic awareness into sessions to empower you to understand that your body is your biggest and most reliable source of information. Our work together may involve purely talk therapy, embodied talk therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness techniques or a combination of these approaches.

I hold a Master’s Degree (MS) from Pratt Institute and am a licensed Creative Arts Therapist and psychotherapist in the state of New York. I’m certified in Motivational Interviewing through the New York State Psychiatric Institute and am currently undergoing an intensive psychoanalytic training program at the William Alanson White Institute. Prior to my career as a psychotherapist, I was a key advocate in the 2009 Health Care Reform. I led, with Nancy Pelosi, a press conference giving testimony in support of raising funds for Health Care to young adults. I also met with legislators and members of congress as an advocate of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America to encourage and promote sponsorship of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research and Awareness Act: H.R. 2275. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Dance and Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2004 and continue to choreograph in my free time.
